Purchasing a Second Seat

 

Who must purchase a second seat?

We require the purchase of an additional seat for any customer who cannot fit within one seat with the armrest in the down position.

 

What are the typical seat dimensions?

All our seats are 17 inches wide.

 

Why does Hawkair have a second seat policy?

Our goal is to have a comfortable and safe flight for all passengers. Flights can be very full and having an empty seat next to you cannot be guaranteed. We hope the information provided helps you to understand the importance of purchasing a second seat.

 

How do I purchase a second seat?

You can purchase a second seat by contacting our reservations department at

 1-800-487-1216. Both seats should be purchased at the same time.

Benefits of booking ahead of time are:

  • Adjacent seating is available and reserved
  • A second seat discount is available
  • A FAA approved seatbelt extension is available on request

 Can I request a refund if the flight is not full?

Once you have completed all your travel, and there were 4 extra seats available, you will be eligible for a refund of the second seat.

You may request a refund by emailing reservations@hawkair.ca or by contacting the Customer Care Manager at 1-800-487-1216 ext 224.

Simply provide us with the name on the reservation, travel dates, flight information and the reservation number.

 

Why do I have to purchase a second seat if the plane is not full?

Many things occur within the hour before a flight departs, and a flight that had open seats one hour prior to departure may not have seats at departure time. Because of these changes, we feel that consistency is necessary in order to provide the same level of service to you at all times.

We have made the refund policy very simple, so the turnaround time for your refund is minimal.

 

What if I did not purchase the second seat in advance?

If a second seat has not been purchased prior to check-in, you will be asked to purchase the additional seat before boarding the aircraft. If time does not permit, we will reaccommodate you on a later flight. All change fees will be waived.
